Foreign Relations Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso traveled to Washington yesterday to participate, together with 10 other foreign ministers from Latin American countries, in a meeting with US senators and members of the House of Representatives that will take place at the Organization of American States (OAS) headquarters today. Diario Libre reports that the meeting has the intention of requesting of US lawmakers that the immigration reform bills they are promoting should not adversely affect Latin American immigrants. Morales Troncoso will make a speech putting forward the Dominican Republic's position.
