New area code in DR

Many of the new cell phone numbers being issued in the DR now have the new area code (829) vs the old (809). Mostly Orange phones. You may want to check the area code when someone gives you their cell phone number. DO NOT ASSUME IT IS (809).

Verizon is mostly giving out the 829 area code thats what they gave me.

This is kinda funny.
Usually, an AREA code defines an area, but in the DR's case, they waited till they ran out of numbers to come up with a new area code.
So now, the new area code in the DR could be anywhere..
