The candidates for the post of Mayor of Santo Domingo have signed a sort of "non-aggression pact" that will cover the remaining 13 days of the campaign. It is being called a Pact of Mutual Respect and is signed by all of the candidates, who range from former wrestler Jack Veneno (Rafael Sanchez) representing the Socialist Institutional Block (BIS) to Roberto Salcedo, the PLD candidate who is up for re-election. The signing was witnessed by Monsignor Agripino Nunez Collado, the coordinator of the national dialogue, Rafael Gonzalez, an observer from the OAS, Paulo Herrera Maluf, from civic group Participacion Cuidadana and Mariano Rodriguez, the head of the local election board.
