I just returned from a 10 day stay in Boca Chica and stayed again, for the 3rd time at El Caucho. Last year I wrote about this place on ISOC and again it was as good as I expected it to be. Upon arrival, I was made to feel like I lived there all my life, and I was coming home. Abbey, Danilo & Francesco, 3 of the owners, all welcomed me and made me feel right at home. I missed seeing Larry, another of the owners who was away on his own vacation at the time.
My room rate was VERY reasonable and I was given a double room with cable TV and remote, refridgerator, new air conditioning with remote, hot water shower and a comfortable bed. Oh, and did I mention a nice balcony overlooking the pool? My cable TV seemed pretty good at first, but during my first day there, there was a knock on my door and 2 guys came with another TV which had about 90 channels, including a porno channel just in case I wanted to set the mood.
I can't imagine why anyone who knows would want to stay in any other place in BC. While I was there I visited the Hotel Costalunga and El Candil which have been recommended on this site, only to find both places quite dead by comparison. I suppose that for those people who want a chica friendly hotel that's real quiet, then these places might be their choice.
The way I see it is that El Caucho is a party waiting to happen whenever you join in. Great music playing at the bar, lots of attractive chicas singing, dancing, playing, being sexy, friendly and ready to make a good time happen. The attractive female STAFF at the bar is off limits, but there are always attractive chicas ready to play with you and more as the nights get later.
If you're feeling a little hung over from the night before, or if you just want to relax peacefully, there is a beautiful pool in the back with shaded areas under palm leaves for a quiet time or contemplating your next move.
For those guests who are looking to spend the day on the beach, you only have to walk out front, then around the corner, and in 3 more minutes you're there.
There is also a new Italian chef at their restaurant. The food was very good last year, but even better on this trip. There's also a pizza restaurant which I was told is very good but I was busy enjoying the other meals.
The hotel was full while I was there and I never saw anyone unhappy about anything. One new guy I met named Dan liked the place so much that he moved in permanently and is presently starting his business venture in town. Nice guy...I wish him luck. The guys who run El Caucho deserve an award for making people feel comfortable. And these guys have got it together. My thanks go out to them and a VERY SPECIAL THANKS to Abbey who spent alot of time with me as if he was an old friend. To me he is.
NO, I don't have any affiliation with this place. I just want it to stay busy and as good as it is, so I can enjoy it again on my next trips.
