The 100-meter world champion, Jamaican Asafa Powell, and the former leader of the 400-meter obstacle race, Dominican Felix Sanchez, are the star attractions of the track and field Grand Prix to be held here on 13 May. According to a report by Listin Diario, Powell, the fastest man on earth, holds the world record for 100-meters at 9.77 seconds, which he won at a Grand Prix last June in Athens. The information was reported by Jose Ludwig Rubio, president of the Dominican Federation of Track and Field Associations, which is in charge of organizing the match to take place at the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium.
