The "Socially and Environmentally Responsible Ecotourism Projects" bulletin was launched last night. El Caribe reports that the publication includes experiences developed by a series of institutions under the auspices of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the International Resource Group (IRG), the Environmental Protection Investment Fund (FIFA) and the NGO Alliance, in the DR. Among the projects approved are the Cuesta Colorada Ecotourism and Environmental Education Center in Nagua, developed by the Society for the Integral Development of the Northeast; Placement of Bracing Buoys and delimiting of the Hotel Zone in Bayahibe, presented by the Romana-Bayahibe Hotel Association; and Refurbishment and Management of the Sabana de la Mar Dock and its Environs for Ecotourism Use, presented by the Board for the Tourist Development of Sabana de la Mar. USAID Director Elena Brineman was present at the activity.
