According to a Penn, Schoen & Berland poll published in today's El Caribe, if Presidential elections were held now, President Leonel Fernandez would get 35% of the vote as PLD candidate, followed by the near-tie between the PRSC's Eduardo Estrella (11%) and former President Hipolito Mejia of the PRD (10%). Other political leaders scored as follows: the PRD's Miguel Vargas Maldonado (7%) and Ramon Alburquerque (7%); the PRSC's Amable Aristy (7%) and Quique Antun (3%); the PLD's Jaime David Fernandez Mirabal (6%) and Danilo Medina (4%). President Fernandez continues to hold the support of those who voted for him in the last elections (62%), whereas Mejia has lost support from his voters, as only 27% said they would vote for him again.
