The Central Electoral Board (JCE) carried out trials yesterday to test the logistics and functioning of the electoral results reporting system. Hundreds of volunteers staffed computer terminals all over the country and reported "election results" to the offices of Participacion Ciudadana, the civic watchdog group. There were no anomalies reported for any of the "results". The test run was used to calibrate the process of obtaining data, and served to test the computer system and the vote counting processes. The entire trial was carried out before some of the OAS observers' arrival for the elections.
