The director of the Airport Department Andres Vanderhorst announced that Constanza's airport would be reopened on Saturday. He envisions that this will contribute to the economic and touristic development of the mountain valley city. Constanza is attractive to tourists seeking ecotourism experiences and stays in the cooler highland countryside. It is also a major producer of farm produce - fruits, vegetables, flowers and other products, which can now be transported by airplane.
A fly-in with the participation of pilots from the Santo Domingo, Santiago, Air Force and San Juan, Puerto Rico air clubs has been organized to launch the new landing strip on Saturday.
