On Saturday, the Central Electoral Board (JCE) will take control of the premises of the public and private schools that are to be used as voting stations in the May 16 mid-term elections, as reported by Listin Diario. Yesterday, Education Minister Alejandrina German instructed their directors to make their schools available to the JCE and said that the users of the school premises will be responsible for safekeeping materials and equipment owned by those centers. She also explained that school is suspended from Monday through Wednesday, and will resume on Thursday next week. Several private schools that will not be used for voting stations have announced they will be breaking for the elections.
