I saw an ad for The Barcelo Lina in Santo Domingo on SkyAuctions.

Does anyone know anything about this place and whether or not it's chica friendly?

I have been there.

Very good hotel.

Chica friendly but you have to pay something for your hostess.

May be in daytime you can escape from it if you're discret and go up by stairs.

What do you mean "hostess"?

A euphemism for hooker ?? Front Desk clerkette???

OK, now it's clear. Thanks.

You don't happen to remember what the charge was, do you?

I can't remember exactly but I think it was 500 $rd.

I liked the rooms, the restaurant but not sure I will return.

It's very close to the university and a good bar near the olypic stadium after the bridge but you need a car if you want to go near the colonial zone or the malecon where there's more action.

Anyone have an idea of the best one near the malecon area in Santo Domingo that is chica friendly? I was about to check the site but I thought I would ask. I'm heading that way soon and then up to Sosua.

We stayed there this past trip early Aug.
Its chica friendly but officially there is a $25 guest fee, however once you get to know the night security guys at the elevator,u can get them in for 200-300 pesos. Tip indivdually ,dont give some guy a $20, cause he probably wont be there the next night. You take the entrance to the right of the main entrance, its closest to the elevator so its not so conspicuous, u will see the layout when you go there.
The pool is nice but a long walk ,to the back and they close at about 7 pm? They have a nice bar there to hang out and a big hot tub. I got some pics if you want to see them but its also on their site.
The 5th floor was closed, because the ceiling was gutted as they are remodeling one floor at a time, I think this outfit buys hotels and renovates them. The 8th floor ? as I recall is some kind of VIP area, but I didnt inquire further.
The Cafeteria is very nice, food was good, breakfast and luch. Never had dinner in there, and the girls working the desk/register as u walk in and also the waitresses are are very cute, a couple of them I think are 9's IMO . If they like you, they will even make a comments about how "attractivo" u are so they may be available if you speak the lingo.
Even LESS SHY are the girs who hang out at the CIGAR shop which is just in front and to the left of the casino, its down a long hallway on the ground floor. Sometimes they even approach you in the lower lounge area, just a few steps down from the front desk. This lounge area is a nice place to hang out with a drink or coffee and smoke a cigar while discussing the evening plans . I never went into the bar, I dont think there is much traffic in there. .The chicas that hang in the Cigar store are really not my taste, but once in a while u will see a cute one. The staff is FULLY aware this is going on. SO its cool that way.
Unlike the Jaragua, and other place, This Casino gave us was VERY good Cambio rates, but only $200 USD at a time per person, and one night they limited it to $100, so its only for pocket $.
Any more questions let me know.

I like to stay at upscale places when I travel and am willing to pay extra for for the pleasure as long as it's not ridiculous. I will not, however, sacrifice utility and/or decent proximity to the places I need to go to find chicas.

Do you feel that it is kinda out of the way, or is it relatively close to the hunting grounds?

Its a very nice Hotel IMO. Very profesional staff etc,so I think it will meet your expectations 100% in that regard. As soon as you walk in you will see that.
Its within walking distance to The Intercontinental Hotel ,same street where Girls House is, and its also very close to El Conde. Not sure how far, we had a van but its only a couple minutes tops. We really didnt need the van because of the distance, just to stay as a group.
We had a Dom resident make our reservations ,so we didnt pay anywhere near full price. So IMO, if youre gonna pay $110 for a room, I would personally go with the Jaragua, because its more luxurious, and the pool there is AWESOME. Always lively. But then its not openly chica friendly so you have to deal with.
