A pub landlord today defended his actions after a lesbian couple claimed they were banned from his bar because they'd openly kissed each other. Kelly Murray and her partner Laura McGuire, 21, are no longer welcome as customers in the Grapes Tavern in Hereford after a kiss too far in the bar of the Church Street pub. Laura alleges that bar staff told her there would be "none of that in here" after she gave Kelly a kiss on the cheek. Landlord Mick Price denied that he was homophobic and claimed the two women had overstepped the mark. "It was a lot more than a peck on the cheek. I suppose you could have called it heated kissing because they were really going for it" he said. "I've got nothing at all against gay people and we get gay people coming in here for a drink all the time.
