The National Symphony Orchestra will travel to Valladolid, Spain to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Christopher Columbus. Bernardo Jorge, director of Bellas Artes announced that the Symphony will travel on 16 May to carry out a concert on Saturday, 20 May together with the National Symphony or Colombia and the choir of Radio Television Espanola, for 180 master musicians in a together for the union of both continents. The concert is known as "Elevando anclas hacia el Nuevo Mundo" (Raising Anchors to the New World).
