The US Office of National Drug Control Policy indicates that over the past five years there has been a four-fold increase in the amount of cocaine flowing out of Venezuela. ONDCP director, Walters complained of lack of anti-drug cooperation from the Venezuela authorities. The report in El Nuevo Herald indicates that the number of non-commercial illicit flights increased from 21 in 2002 to 220 last year, and a new record is expected for 2008. Most of these fly to Hispaniola, and then Mexico.
