German Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Kart Kohler, said it was disconcerting that a country as poor as the Dominican Republic should spend so much money on an electoral campaign, as reported by El Caribe. "I ask myself how is it possible that this country has such a long electoral campaign, and that candidates spend so much money on their political propaganda, the DR being such a poor country", said the diplomat during his participation in a meeting with several other ambassadors and the OAS mission of observers held by Participacion Ciudadana.
