[DR1] Resigning candidates list disclosed

The Central Electoral Board (JCE) Elections Directorate has finally disclosed a list of 229 candidates who resigned their nominations after their names were printed on the voting ballots. The information had been kept secret and even some of the JCE judges had not been informed. Several weeks ago, the news was reported that a large number of candidates for Senator, Deputy, Mayor, deputy Mayor, and council members had resigned their nominations after being elected by their respective parties and having been approved by the JCE Contention Chamber - a matter of public concern. The list disclosed by the Elections Directorate includes 13 candidates for Mayor, 4 for Senator, 42 for Deputies, 12 for deputy Mayors, and 69 candidates for council members and substitute council members. According to their party affiliations 62 are from the UDC, 31 from the PRI, 32 from the PRSC, 32 from the BIS, 27 from the PRSD, 22 from the PRD, 5 from the PLD, 4 from the IUCA, 3 from the PPC, 1 from the PVUD, and 1 from the PNVC.
