Thursday, October 14th
Well I bid Danielle a farewell and find out the truth from John. RD & I head to Rocky’s for breakfast and hang out there for a bit. We do some running around and head to Caberette for a while. (Or was that Saturday, it blurs sometimes). I head back to Monte Llano looking for my friend there but without success. The bartender professes her undying love for RD and I promise to deliver the message.
Finally night time rolls around and we are hanging at Dominos drinking. There is a chica who hangs there and I am sure we all know her, her name is Daisy, she speaks perfect English & German but is very fat. She does have a great personality so we talk a bit.
She tells me she knows this perfect girl for me (Mercedes) and wants to introduce us. So I leave RD on his own and we head to Puerto Plata is pick her up. We come back and get RD and head to dinner.
After dinner we drop off RD and head to Puerto Plata to hang out there. We first go to La Canita, the guy in the bathroom is calling me Papi Chulo, two different “good” girls in the same week in a place where I am the only gringo.
I have my first run in with a Dominican York but he is cool. The only problem is his girl starts hitting on me. God I love this country!
She asks me to buy her some food and ask why doesn’t her novio buy her some. She tells me they are fighting and won’t give her anything. Fuck it and I send over something that costs RD$50. Who knows I might run into her on a future trip.
We are having a blast dancing and drinking. Daisy doing the hard translating and having fun. Then my roommate calls me, he was just jumped by four guys (later found out his girlfriend smashed a beer mug over his head) and he is looking for my stash. I tell him where it is (yes I am a nice guy) and hang up. Well he send me a text message “I love you man” and Mercedes gets PISSED!
I explain that this is my amigo and roommate but it seemed like she didn’t believe me. We continue dancing, drinking and kissing. Finally the girls want to go see some strippers so again with a “good” girl I head out to see place I never have been before like El Bohen & Crystals. El Bohen has stopped stripping and by the time we get to Crystals it is closed.
They then suggest Galactica, now this place is ROUGH. Dominican yorks everywhere. I pretend I speak no English and try to speak only Spanish. When it is clear I am not from there I switch to German to avoid them. Now I know some people have said there is no quality there maybe it was the time you went. There were local 9’s & 10s there but it was 4am in the morning! I was drooling looking around. Not a gringo in sight except me.
Finally we leave, drop off Daisy and head to the Palace. Mercedes starts giving me the good girl attitude and wants only to sleep with me while I hold her. She asks for a T-shirt and we get into bed. We start kissing again and eventually she reaches down into my boxers. Well suffice to say we ended up fucking.
Friday, October 15th
The next morning RD wants to go back to Santiago to see his novia so I ask Mercedes to go with. She says yes but that she doesn’t want to go home and I will need to buy her new clothes. No Problem.
We drive to Santiago and the whole time the Haitian that I was suppose to meet in SD is calling me wondering when I am coming. She had taken a bus to Santiago. I am on fucking vacation I will be there when I get there!
We pick up RD’s novia and head to the bus station. Then off to a clothing store for Mercedes. She only wants a new pair of pants but I tell her to buy a really nice outfit for that night because I was taking her somewhere special.
I drop RD & his novia off at the hotel and head to the Platino to check in. We take a little nap then shower & shave. We get RD & novia and head to Camp David. Mercedes is overwhelmed and didn’t know about the place. We have a very romantic dinner. We head back down and drop RD & novia off and hit Santiago.
We cruise to Kelvin’s again and guess who I see. MARY! Look at my second trip and you will see she was my former wife. Well even better she is smoking & drinking now, two things she use to yell at me about. Of course she comes up and kisses me on the cheek and makes small talk. Mercedes gets MAD and I tell her in Spanish; Yes I knew Mary from my last trip, yes we were together, I just met you 2 days ago and if you are mad about what happened in my past I will give you taxi fare right now to get home and I will take Mary, I know she will be happy. Well Mercedes stopped complaining, since she saw I was serious. Hell she wasn’t a virgin when I met her, why should I be!
We then head to Ilusions and I pull out my VIP pass. We are treated like kings. The setup a table for us in the crowded room next to the stage and we get our drinks at Dominican prices. This time a grande costs RD$80 not RD$200!
We have a blast drinking, dancing, etc. I went to have a smoke outside in the back and ran into three Dominican Yorks out there with some chicas. I make some small talk with them and I guess they had been living in the DR for the past 4 months. I ask them if they come to Ilusions a lot and they say every night. I ask them if they have one of these yet, and whip out my VIP pass. They replied that they haven’t gotten one of those yet and ask how long I had been there. I told them I am here just on vacation but know the owner. One of the chicas asked if I was looking for company and I told her I brought a girl her that I had met in a Casino in Puerto Plata (close enough). The Yorks all go out to look at her and drool.
Finally we leave and head back to the hotel. She has a headache so we just fall asleep.
Saturday, October 16th
I wake up to Mercedes riding me so all is good. We shower and head to get RD.
We have lunch in Santiago, I buys some toys for Mercedes’ kids, and RD says goodbye to his novia. We drive back to Puerto Plata and drop off Mercedes since she has to work that night. I give her RD$500 for the salon so she is looking good for later.
I hang out in Sosua regretting it is the last day. We run into Daisy at Dominos and drink a bit. RD has to get to bed early since he is flying in the morning so Daisy & I head to the Casino. We hang here and there waiting for Mercedes to get off at 3am.
Now before I continue let’s reflect: I had bought Mercedes a new pair of pants, a new nighttime outfit with jewelry & shoes, toys for her kids, and RD$500 for the salon! Daisy has me drive them to the beach and we start talking. Mercedes wants the rest of the pesos in my pocket and when I tell them all I have left is RD$700 they want WU!
So of course I promise that I will send them Western Union and we head back to the hotel. I fuck her and pass out inside of her. The next thing I know RD is pounding on my door because we are late and it’s 7am! I rush Mercedes out and barely have time to kiss her.
We get to the airport 15 minutes later. The airport is barely open; no security, no exit fee, no question of where my tourist card is, hell I didn’t even get an exit stamp in my passport! We fill up the plane and off we go.
We decide to go straight to West Palm Beach and avoid Nassau. We arrive at Customs and it is a breeze! They questions my dollar amount and ask about alcohol. I told them we forgot to buy it, which was the truth. We both had one carton of smokes each so we were legal.
RD Gets a lecture, turns out we had to notify Customs before our arrival. Even with that mistake they didn’t even check our bags. I could of have had suitcase of drugs and they wouldn’t have known. Nice security we have in this country.
Well leaving West Palm Beach we loose the alternator, of course even though RD tells me I know planes don’t need electricity to run. Of course our radio does so we fly home in silence conserving radio power.
I did find some humor in how nonchalantly RD told Air Traffic Control that he lost his alternator but it did allow us to get priority landing at the airport. Again any landing you can walk away from is a good landing!
