The fate of the case in which former Agriculture Ministers Eligio Jaquez and Jose Antonio Fabelo, together with 17 people who are accused of fraud in the misappropriation of over RD$500 million through the distribution of 51 greenhouses during Hipolito Mejia's administration will be defined today by the Criminal Chamber of the National District Court of Appeals when a ruling will be issued on whether a second appeals recourse against the original acquittal should be accepted. The ruling is expected at 2:00pm, according to a report by Diario Libre. Judges Miriam German Brito, Francisco Ortega Polanco and Manuel Hernandez will issue their decision regarding a petition by Justice Department representatives Hotoniel Bonilla, Juan de Dios Ventura and Laura Guerrero Pelletier.
