According to the Santiago Municipal Electoral Board, the PLD candidate for senator, Francisco Dominguez Brito was ahead in the count with 61,078 votes (52%) followed by PRD / PRSC Alliance candidate Hector Dominguez who polled 54,649 votes (46%). The PLD provincial and municipal directorate is claiming victory for Dominguez Brito with 54% of the estimated vote.
