Civic group Participacion Ciudadana awarded high grades to the Dominican Republic for the customary civism demonstrated on election day, but gave a thumbs down on the performance of the political parties. As reported in Hoy newspaper, politicians consistently violated the rules of the game established by the Electoral Law.
