A festive mood was evident at the Presidential Palace yesterday and the main theme for discussion by officials and employees was the PLD's victory in Tuesday's congressional and municipal mid-term elections. President Leonel Fernandez arrived at 10:50am and met with Presidential Press Director Rafael Nunez and National Institute of Potable Water and Sewage (INAPA) Director Victor Diaz Rua, according to a report in Listin Diario. At the same time, Presidential Minister Danilo Medina met with Senator-elect Reynaldo Pared Perez to discuss the election results. They were all planning a celebration of the party's victory. Work activities were halted in the Palace yesterday though celebrations were discreet and low-key in keeping with the President's instructions to the party to "celebrate the triumphs achieved with simplicity".
