DR1.com is providing a new open space for the sharing of information and opinions about the current and future state of the DR's capital markets and its overall economic performance. Questions are welcome. Part of the DR1 forums, the most visited and most active internet message boards in the Caribbean, the new "Dominicans on Wall Street" monitored forum is hosted by the leadership of DOWS. The forum comes on the heels of a visit by a 10-member DOWS delegation to DR1 offices in April this year. DOWS brings together a select group of Dominicans who work on Wall Street.

The forum moderators are Robert Abreu, Emmanuel Martinez, and Josefa Sicard-Mirabal. Robert Abreu is a vice-president at Goldman Sachs & Co, within the Information Security Group. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he spent the majority of his career working for retail and international banks. DOWS founder Josefa Sicard-Mirabal is a partner at the law firm of Greenberg Traurig specializing in international transactions. Previously, in the DR, she served as Chief Justice of the Civil, Commercial and Labor Court in La Vega. Emmanuel Martinez is vice-president in Bear, Stearns & Co's Emerging Markets Research group. He analyzes sovereign and corporate debt for Central America and Caribbean issuers, and advises emerging market investors.
