The Economist focuses in its print edition on the ruling party increasing its participation in Congress and how this will facilitate the present government's agenda. "The president should now be free to move ahead. He says that sorting out his country's chronic electricity shortage is the main challenge," as reports The Economist. Furthermore, on the agenda is a pilot scheme to tackle drug-related crime, and better prospects for neighboring Haiti, with an elected president, Rene Preval taking office on 14 May, expected to contribute to help improve security.
