Five inmates, all Haitian, escaped from Rafey Public Jail in Santiago early yesterday morning, according to a police report. They were accused of murder, robbery, assault and other serious crimes. This jailbreak took place just two weeks after a group of six inmates, including former police and military personnel, escaped from the same jail, taking advantage of deficient surveillance. The inmates broke the bars of the cell where they were confined and crawled down a rope to escape. The inmates' names were not disclosed.
