Seven people are reported to have died and at least 17 wounded in violence linked to the wait for results and celebrations of anticipated victories in this week's elections. Diario Libre reports that the latest victim was Henry Ramon Celedonio Paniagua, 29, who was shot in the stomach during the celebration of the predicted victory of the PLD candidate for mayor of Santo Domingo Norte, Jesus Felix. The shooting took place on Wednesday night. Also on Wednesday, Junior Cabrera, 20, and Jonathan Uret Batista, 18, were wounded in Guachupita while celebrating the PLD victory.
