Noticed on DR1 some condo units that look decent enough in Puerto Chiquita, half-way between the airport and Sosua. I've stayed at Las Canas and The Palms before and like them. Las Canas is great, but a little out of the way on a bad road. The Palms is okay and I think depends on the unit you get. Haven't stayed at Tradewinds, but hear it is fairly similar to The Palms. Saw the units at Puerto Chiquita. Does anyone know anything about this place? Chica friendly? Safe? I always rent a car and do like the extra room of a condo. I'm also low key and never create any problems or extra attention. The three units for rent and the prices look good. Now I need some help from any brothers in the know. Thanks.

I am sure Bachag will give the place a warm recommendation  There is a reason they are moderately priced.

Villas of Olas de Oro

Founded and developed in 1990, the villas of Olas de Oro are in a category all by themselves. From the very moment you arrive you will immediately notice the Caribbean style architecture, the first class construction, the attention to detail and the tastefully furnished villas. All of this is surrounded in a natural environment of palm trees, plants and flowers that are indigenous to this area. The combination of all the above, along with the warm tropical breezes, leads to an enriched and unforgettable vacation.

Complimenting Olas de Oro's quality construction and environmental paradise is it's fabulous location. Strategically located in the middle of the Cabarete bay, it is only a 5 minute walk to downtown Cabarete. Here you can find the best wind- and kitesurf schools, gift shops, boutiques, and of course, the famous Cabarete night life. Yet, if it’s the quiet life you prefer, Olas de Oro is far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet each day and every night.
Equally important is what is actually located on the premises of Olas de Oro and the services that are provided. Here you will find the exceptional international restaurant Tropicoco serving breakfast, lunch and dinner on a daily basis. Along with a full laundry service we have a local supermarket that will deliver your groceries to your door step every day. For those who prefer to simply relax, there is the new beach club. Olas de Oro is the perfect vacation resort because you never have to leave the premises.
For those who are more active and sports minded, Olas de Oro's on-site manager will be glad to make all your necessary arrangements. Reservations can be made at our office. You need to look no further than Villas of Olas de Oro, the premier vacation resort of the north coast in the Dominican Republic - see you there!

Villas of Olas de Oro

Location - on the part of Cabarete Bay known as Bozo beach. 10 min walk to the beach nightlife and bars.

Properties are older but decent, reasonably safe and secure.
What else do you want to know?

Is it in the east or west part of town. I'm just trying to figure out if it is out the way. I normally stay at either Sea Horse Ranch or Casa Linda. I do visit the Casino(in Cabarete) every night as well as Classico's. So i'm just trying to gauge my local. Thanks
