[DR1] Cardinal speaks out against movie

Cardinal Lopez Rodriguez has spoken out against "The Da Vinci Code", its author and cinema fans who are flocking to see the movie. He described the book's author, Dan Brown, as "an imbecile" and called moviegoers "simpletons" for going to watch the controversial film. "What right does this insignificant author have to mock the whole of Christian mankind?" asked Msgr. Lopez on a program broadcast by Catholic radio station Vida FM. He said that the story was a collection of lies and nonsense and "if that imbecile (Dan Brown) thinks a stupidity like this" is going to make him concerned, he is wrong. "Once again I confirm what the Bible says, that the number of fools, imbeciles, is infinite and now we can prove it because many are acting like a flock of baby lambs watching a movie that is absolute nonsense", added Lopez.
