The executive director of the Caribbean Council in London, David Jessop is encouraging Dominicans to follow up on the good momentum created by President Leonel Fernandez' March visit to London.
Jessop, a long time observer of the Caribbean as a whole, sees an above average interest this time among British government and potential investors in the Dominican Republic. As reported in Listin Diario, Jessop spoke about interest in the Caucedo private port, call centers, software development, pharmaceuticals, wellness vacations, and support for the financial sectors. He forecast a strengthening of relations between the United Kingdom and the DR. He foresees the British Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic playing an active role in facilitating UK investment in the DR. He announced that a British investors mission is being organized for this coming September.
