The Central Electoral Board (JCE) has announced that it will release the final, official results of the 16 May elections during the course of business today. Chief magistrate Luis Arias said that the full board would meet at 11am today to put the finishing touches on the process. Arias told reporters that there were just 29 polling stations in San Juan de la Maguana that needed to be confirmed and 311 in the municipality of Santo Domingo North (where Pedro Brand is located). Thirty provinces have been cleared, and the two aforementioned sectors are the only ones remaining to be certified. Arias also revealed that the JCE magistrates have designated Gilberto Cruz Herasme, Franklin Frias and Manuel Perdomo as an ad hoc committee to clear up the irregularities, or "inconveniences" that were discovered in places like Los Alcarrizos. The committee has been asked to present its findings to the entire board.
