Television and media personality Yaqui Nunez del Risco was given a favorable prognosis by neurologist Eduardo Yermenos yesterday. Del Risco was hospitalized at Cedimat after suffering a stroke and is being treated in the intensive care unit. Yermenos said that the prognosis is now very favorable in light of the progress that Nunez has made over the past 24 hours. He said, "The case is still one of caution, but with better expectations."
He went on to add, "We are still in a post-operative process, barely 48 hours old, but the prognosis is turning favorable." Nunez was operated on to relieve pressure from a cerebral hematoma. Afterwards, Nunez regained consciousness, an important step towards recovery. Neurosurgeon Jose Joaquin Puello, who operated on Yaqui told reporters that if things continued to get better, Nunez could be taken out of Intensive Care in 10 days.
Yermenos spoke to television and press journalist Huchi Lora by phone yesterday.
