Authorities have tightened security at access points and restricted areas of airports in preparation for the arrival of the heads of state and their representatives who will be taking part in the extraordinary meeting of the heads of state of Central America, Colombia, Mexico and Dominican Republic (SICA), from 1 to 3 June. The K-9 dog unit will be patrolling the areas where the heads of state are expected to pass through. The dogs are trained to detect explosives. In addition, 115 members of the Airport Security Force (CESA) have been co-opted to control and surveillance duties in strategic areas of the air terminal. Most of the heads of state will be arriving at La Romana International Airport.
