The Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources is working on a management plan for the Jaragua National Park around Bahia de las Aguilas, as reported by Minister Max Puig. According to Diario Libre, the ministry is using studies carried out by the Araucaria Project sponsored by the Spanish International Cooperation Agency to develop the plan. The ministry already has plans for protected areas in mountainous zones. Puig also reported he will be meeting with the French investors interested in building hotels in Bahia de las Aguilas. He was speaking during the first forum on Protected Areas and Human Development.
