I've never been with a chica very long before she wants MY cologne. You can get some cheap imitations at CVS (and I'm sure other places) for $10US. I take a couple each trip for the real performers. Other things I take are: a big sack of soaps, shampoos, and lotions from my hotels when I travel and work; toothbrushes and toothpaste are also a nice cheap item, as is deodorant.

Remember the children too, that will get you more than you can imagine, little candies and stuff that they can't get there are a big deal. I eat a lot of peanuts in the US, the price of them there is crazy, so is just about every chocolate as well.

A digital camera

Some basic meds

your laptop

do not overload your bag with cloths, laundry is cheap there and easy to find, forget the wife beaters, buy some ISOC t shirts they will get you good mileage , dominicans think your trouble if you wear the wife beaters, cheats you out of some possible family culture

I'll cosign on the chocolates - chicas love it for themselves or to take back to their lil ones...

...also for the room a travel pack of the disinfectant wipes and or baby
wipes, it may sound anal but when you consider some of the stuff that
must go on in some of the rooms of Sosua, it doesn't hurt to do some personal house keeping for yourself.

FYI: Macys is having a perfume giveaway as settlement in a class action suit...great way to stock up for the favoritas.

Gifts for the chicas, panties, 1.99 at national liquidators. a shower cap for the chica so she will not bitch about her hair b4 jumping into the water to clean a sweaty pussy from the night and dancing. Cheap lipsticks, nail polish make up etc. I have had both the Santiago sisters in my room 2x and never paid a dime. Usually at the end of my trip I offer them all the left over goodies including all cosmetics. Oh, and if u are a kisser of these chicas , bring xtra toothbrushes for them..

Better listen to Cheeno. Imodium AD is a must if it is your first trip. Also, if you go sight seeing (away from Sosua), carry a little paper in your pocket. You will find out quick that most bathrooms in the DR do not have TP. Another thing that works for me is a huge bottle of mouth wash. Brush your teeth with mouth wash and you may never need the Imodium AD.

Do you really need them on a tropical island?:lol:

One thing for sure, bring a bottle opener for the "Cerveza". You could never find them when you need one.

For security: an extra (or old copy) of your drivers license; something you won't worry about losing. I carry an old copy of my old military ID and "dummied" the SS#.

I also bought a couple of combo locks designed like the fasteners climbers use. These are great for securing your bags. It came from the stories of guys having chicas rifle through their bags.

My $10 watch is my expensive one. I leave it at home and use a $5 one in the DR.

Just read a post by THUNDERSTAR, so I thought I'd throw this in...

...DON'T fuck with the ICE! I don't know what your drink of choice is but
the water in the DR can make you sick as all HELL:mad:...and for whatever reason some folks don't equate the two:confused:. Same with ANY salad, most places rinse and wash it in tap water...again STAY AWAY!

I stick to nursing beers - because I'm not a big beer fan; or a couple of shots of Jack's at Lou's Shark Bar...just enough to give a buzz...not fucked up...

...watch yourself at the Shark Bar - Lou is a great and friendly host - it takes some will power to have only a couple.

Hey...I've met a chica who did that for me and I threw her out. I actually thought she was going to break the bottle. I don't want no chica touching my johnson with such strong teeth. :p:p

It is hard for me to stay away from the ice, because i hate when beer is not ice fucking cold, and how do u drink a mixed drink with out ice. i have gotten sick the last 2 times now. If i do agian this upcoming trip, it may be my last for the DR.

everytime i read these things i laugh. let me ask...do plan on taking showers in bottled water as well? Contact with their water is inevitable...just relax and dont be a hypochondriac

I love ice. I love salads. I've made five or so week-long trips and have never had a single problem. Granted, I don't eat at the chicken stands, preferring places like Britannia, Baileys, Rockys and Mora Mora(?). In fact, I always order an extra glass of ice. Yes, I've taken some "just-in-case" medicine for my stomach, but have never had to use it. If you don't have a wacky stomach, a little common sense suffices.

As for my favorite cautionary item, I use a safety black wallet holder with a strong, but thin metal cord that is unobtrusive. It's a little extra trouble getting out my wallet whenever I need it, but the safety and peace of mind is worth it. Sometimes I'll move the walI leave most of my stuff (cards, cash and passport) in the room safety wallet to my front pocket, especially at night, for one more layer of security.

Not true. You folks that are getting sick, are getting it from the food. Probably salads.

Everyone, but EVERYONE, uses bagged ice from commericial establisments. That ice is made from heavily filtered, treated, UV treated water, and most use reverse osmosis as well.

It not the ice or the amount of protons or neutrons they use to deionize the water before making ice. Its going to a chicken stand where theres no sink in sight or eating empanadas in front of classico.
