[DR1] SICA meeting begins today

The technical meeting in preparation for the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Central American Integration System (SICA) begins today in Casa de Campo, La Romana. The meeting takes place at the same time as the Second Meso-American Energy Meeting and in addition to the leaders of Central America, will be attended by the Presidents of Mexico, Vicente Fox, and Colombia, Alvaro Uribe, according to a report by Diario Libre. The summit will be launched on Saturday with a speech by President Leonel Fernandez and another by Panamanian President Martin Torrijos Espino, Pro-Tempore. At 1 pm the leaders will sign a joint statement and will later hold a press conference. Today, there will be a meeting of the technical delegations and tomorrow of the foreign ministers and energy ministers of the countries represented. In the evening, President Fernandez will host a dinner in honor of the heads of state and government at the Casa de Campo Country Club.
