Dozens of tank trucks are sitting in the yard at the Dominican National Refinery because of an apparent breakdown in the system used to fill the trucks. According to El Caribe, these tank trucks have been stalled since Sunday night in the hopes of getting loaded and distributing the fuel to the rest of the country. According to reports, the breakdown is in the system that sends fuel to the trucks and ensures that the appropriate amount is dispatched. Truck drivers told reporters that refinery personnel are working on correcting the breakdown, but other sources said that there was no staff available to deal with the problem during the long holiday weekend.
