I didn't see any bugs there...and it was HOT AS HELL!! I was expecting to see a bunch of some sort of insect. I'm sure there are a few somewhere, but I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Just a few spiders here and there. I have seen them in all the hotels from time to time.

From my experience, there are bugs and spiders and lizards in every hotel down there.
The worst bug I ever encountered was the nasty hooker bug. They are everywhere and out 24 hours a day. :D

I have smoked a couple. Although John was on to me July 2003, he strongly suggest not to smoke roaches because the putas will rat you out to the local Policia. He said if you must smoke DON'T do it near the putas.
Hey Vagabond.... How's that for a segue to another subject.
:?:
For the newbies on the board...if you are even thinking about doing weed in DR...think Midnight Express.
For our younger viewers...you will be throw in jail and beaten daily until you die.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
They have NO TOLERANCE for that. They will lock you up.

That's why I switched to 10mg Valium! Nice relaxed feeling no paranoia. Take twice daily as directed by Dr. Alzar.
This doctor is getting a ton of free press here.
LOL.

haven't seen any roaches, but twice there were some ants near the window, but that was taken cared of immediately after John was let known.

WOW! I never heard that about Europa. Didn't have that problem at the Palace. And that was before the recent renovations.
Hey it is damp in DR of course there will be insect issues.
I just killed the roach and went on about my mongering business.

Aren't roaches the offical pet of New York anyways?
Oh take thy beak from out my heart.
Roaches the size of small birds are not common in NYC.
I mean these roaches can fly.

Yup, ants have been an issue...but John had Fredo and Luka take care of it right away.

I would rather deal with ants then have flying roaches messing up my Sosua vacation.

Those are Palmetto bugs which are just cousins...
Couple main differences.
Pros:
PBs do not congregate like city roaches do. So you won't find 1,000 of them on top of each other.
PBs are more "natural" they tend to stay outside.
Cons:
They FLY!
They are 5-10 times larger!
It's the flying thing that freaks me out.
It breaks my concentration to have a chica give me a bbbj only to be divebombed by a PB.

maybe it's time for another message board.
Go to the medical section and read all the posts. We spent about a week talking about what drugs are over the counter in the DR.
P.S. the website above does not exist (yet)

James, i do not like drug post. My anti-drug is Presidente's or Baileys. Weed and coke is a gringo no go in the DR so lets find a new topic. I suggest locking this post. Went way off to drugs.

No need to lock it just take the thread in a different direction.

OK, but lets make it clear weed, other shit not found in Phamacia's should be PM only. Do not trust no one you really do not know in the DR about this shit. This is my 2 cents. Let's get back to bugs not drugs!

Dom, got ya. Just the more it is said less calls to Jimmydr to bail newbies out when puta or moto sets them up.
Erase this entire thread.
Why?
Are you going to suggest that every thread that you think is pointless be erased or locked.
Hell with that train of thinking every thread will be treated in this manner in no time.
Just ignore a thread that you find offensive or of no value and it will fade away on its own.
Free speech baby...
I think that the Dominican authorities have other issues to deal with and that their resources would be better served by their policing real crimes...its not as if they can come to my house in NYC and arrest me for responded to a thread about bugs. Even if drugs were mentioned legally no action can take place until an actual crime is committed.
Caution is a heathly thing Lechero, Paranoia is not.
Relax dude...life is too short.
I am gonna roll me a nice blunt now to work up a good appetite!
Thats the spirit...
LOL.

Dude:
Use your head.
Do you want Dominican law enforcement taking this thread out of context?
I realize it originated as a question about bugs.
Why send up a red flag to Snoops that read this.
Members should use there big head once and while and not even post certain words.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Lechero And what with the little problem we have been having with people leaking info, probably a good subject to stay off of. Not out of paranoia, but prudence. And Happy T-Day to all. Even you Euros 8)

I also saw almost every night roaches at the hotel Europa, not in my room but just outside and around the pool area, the flying, big and disgusting type of roaches: the Dominican Air Force.
In my room there were a couple of spiders, which was good news as they kill mosquitoes and I don’t really mind spiders, after all they are quiet, they never disturb you and they kill bugs that do disturb you, such as mosquitoes.
I also saw some ants in the room, not to speak of the infinite flies at the restaurant, so if you like wildlife I really recommend this hotel.

Another disgusting hotel is the Calipso, the ST hotel. I went there for a couple of hours on my first night with the first girl I hunted down and while she was giving me a wonderful BBBJ I was looking at the ceiling, enjoying her performance, and then I saw a roach crawling on the ceiling just above me. The BBBJ (and the fuck that followed) was so good that I didn’t pay much attention to the roach, but obviously I decided not to go back to that shithole in the future.

Not that great of choice for cheap hotels. They tend not to clean up after every short stay there.

i hear you mongers, talking about bugs. well, where are we? roaches, spiders (even the black spider!), lizards, mosquitos, and more, are part of this wondeful tropical paradise. and you wont get enough fumigation nowhere to terminate them all. or you will go with them. its just the question of the ratio, they shouldnt be there all the times, of course.
I also saw almost every night roaches at the hotel Europa, not in my room but just outside and around the pool area, the flying, big and disgusting type of roaches: the Dominican Air Force.
That's because they have a restaurant. Roaches are a huge turn off...they're disgusting.

We have those in Florida, too, and they have nothing to do with filth. They live primarily in palms, which is why you see them outside.
They ARE digusting, however... :x
