The Dominican Refinery, REFIDOMSA, will be remodeled with help from Mexico, according to statements made by President Leonel Fernandez in La Romana last Saturday. According to the President, the Mexican consortium PEMEX will come to Santo Domingo to advise on the expansion and remodeling of the local refinery. The Dominican entity has been in operation since the 1960s. The projected revamping of the refinery came about after a meeting between Mexican President Vicente Fox and his Dominican counterpart in La Romana.
