It has a very large casino. A must if in town. The place is full of working chicas.

If playing at the casino all night the Jaragua closes one hour before
Melia, right next door. I would recommend playing in pesos. Playing
in dollars seems to bring "unwanted" attention, i.e. pickpockets.
If playing alone use your head and don't drink too much.
Please don't overpay the chicas here. I have a friend who paid triple
the going rate back in 2001. He is the kind of guy who screws things
up for the rest of us. Thankfully he has not been back to the DR
since. Also at the bar there are ocassionally non-pros out looking
for a nice time. Not a sure thing but can be had, obviously speaking
español helps here.

Happy hunting,

JD

I have gathered that the casinos are a great place to hit it with chicas.. do the odds increase in a monger's favor the closer to closing time ( like in bars, discos etc)? also, is there a dress code ( i usually dress like a PGA pro away from the beach). Sorry about the questions... I am meeting a fellow Mexico monger in DR, and want him to enjoy all the fruits available.

Hey Jeff aka Jimmy Stewart,

I am not sure of the official dress code. I would make sure to
have long pants on just in case. But that's me. Odds normally
increase towards closing time however the best "goods" may
already be off the shelf if you wait too long. It's not too pretty
at 4 am.

Happy Hunting,

JD

There is no dress code in casinos. We have been even in Jaragua in short pants and t-shirts... Of course the situation is same at the north coast.

Just wear long pants and a shirt. No real codes. Yes as it gets later they get more flexible.

Now that the guest restrictions have been lifted the Jaragua's
casino is crawling with girls. Since I already had what I wanted
from elsewhere I didn't get any quotes. I'll be sure to get some
in August when I return, but I bet someone will beat me to it.

Last I heard , Jaragua (sp) is flip flopping between being CF and Not. An Aquaintance went back and the desk said girls are ok but we need her name in advance. So basically, unless you already have her or are planning for a different nite, it might be tough.

This hotel is my number 1 choice, with all the stuff they have here its a great location to be with a group. We use to regroup at the coffee bar in the lobby!

The Juragua used to be much better. There used to be way more non pros. Once they started cracking down and trying to clean the place up, it had the opposite effect.

One thing they tried. . . .if you are sitting in the merengue bar watching the band. . . .you need to buy a drink. . . .beer is now 150 pesos at that bar. . . . ..who can afford that. . . . .tourists and hookers. . . LOL

My last trip I hooked up with a waitress from the Juragua. She had flirted with me a bit on a prior trip. I got her digits and called her a few times. After a few false starts and last minute cancelations. . .. we finally went out. Toom her to a nearby bar and we drank a few grandes. . . . .

I asked he where she wanted to go next. She said she didn't know as she didn't go out very much. We jumped in a cab and before I was fully inside she said something to the driver. I asked where we were going. . . ..she said a surprise. . . . .he winds up pulling into a cabana! Nice surpirse.

Great BJ, she was on the rag so that was all I got. Hung out till maybe 2:30 am and then she had to go home or mom would be mad. . . . .

Went out one other night and will see her next trip. .. . cab fare only.. . . .gotta love santo domingo!

andy is right, there is no dress code.

But when I went there in Dec of 2004, I did not see many chicas. But I did see one girl who wanted $200 USD. What an idiot! lol

Does this casino close at 4am? So is 3:59am the best time to pick up a non-pro?

Damn, no time for sleep.

I went to Juragua in February. Plenty of Chicas to choose from. All you have to do to get one is make eye contact and smile. The prices are good (1000-2000 pesos). The more spanish you know, the better you can negotiate.

Good. Perfect for early to bed guys like me. My april southern coast trip might detour past Boca Chica and focus exclusively on the capital. If the LE in Boca want to make a strong statement, its gonna cost them $.

We were at the Jaragua for one evening with a group of 5 in the first week of March 2005.. somebody from the US was teaching us Europeans how to loose money at Craps (who came up with that name).. I was there with the gf and still got plenty of looks.. but I like to dress up and speak ok Spanish.. we left after someone completed the lesson by loosing around US$ 100 I think..

I danced a bit at the Merengue bar with the gf.. walked around the casino.. there were plenty of takers and good-looking ones too..

Hi there :)

Last December, whenever I went to that casino, it was quiet. Not many chicas and only gamblers trying to win some money.

I went at 9pm and agian at around 2am. I only found a fat girl from Saudi Arabia.

I hope my luck turns around this time. :)

Can you get the free food if you're not gambling? I'm not into to gambling much (just sports books), but I LOVE to eat...especially for free!

Hi there,

At this casino, it was around 9pm and I went there last March. All of a sudden, I see around 10 waitresses carrying a tray with many plates of food. That day, they served us rice, meat, and potato. They gave the food to EVERYONE!!!!!!

So yes, they gave it to everyone.

Hi Jimmy,

I went to this casino last March and they served free food.

Maybe it was a promotion?

But I went there for four straight nights and they served food every night.

I can confirm that too, they were walking around with plates of rice & chicken when I was teaching C-Mike & friends how to "play" craps.

I hate it when the girls organized your chips without permission.

Girl: "Hi my friend." " I help you."

Me: "It's okay."

30 minutes later,........

Girl: "Hi."

Me: "............."

She finally leaves. :D

The Jaragua casino gave out free food at 10:20pm on a Friday night. :D

If you do not like gambling, the Jaragua Casino is still a nice place to stop by. They have a large live band and a bar where you can order drinks and the working girls will walk up to you.

If you are fluent in Spanish, then hit on the bartenders at the Jaragua Casino. This casino has many new bartenders who are hotter.

These bartenders were quite flirty on all foreign guys. So go for it! 8)

The atmosphere is excellent. Lots of nice pick-ups. Only if Jarragua was chica-friendly. My first trip here last May I brought numerous chica back to the room. When I stayed here in October, I could only get one back and she was a bad lay. This time I'm staying at Hotel Palacio but will go fishing in Jaragua casino and bar. We will be there from a Wednesday to a Sunday, which gives us two weekend days of fun under the sun.

The Jaragua Casino was very quiet (not many chicas) while I visited from late March until early April.

I posted phone numbers of a few girls in my trip report (in the Santo Domingo section).

On April 3rd, I saw a few porn stars visit the Jaragua Casino. There are a few Dominican and American men who recruit hundreds of Dominican Women to shoot porn.

I saw Irene at the Jaragua on April 3rd. She is a Russian girl who used to work at Cisne in the fall of 2003. She looked terrible and out of shape. Poor girl.

The Jaragua casino is a nice place to meet a non-pro who is "a bit" financially stable (financially independent).

I chatted with two girls at the Blackjack tables. Both of them played at the minimum Blackjack tables (the bets were 50 to 100 pesos).

They did not speak English. So our conversation was very short and simple.

But anyway, I think if you are lucky, you can find a non-pro who is financially independent.
