I was just going to piggy-back onto a recent thread about this development but then I thought it would be better to start me own.

I am looking at renting a villa my next trip. I have narrowed it down to my top five so far. Can anyone give me specific information on any of these if you have stayed in them or visited someone who has please? Pictures would be great as they are somewhat limited on the website.

1) Magarita 96A
2) Villa Orquidea 39
3) Villa Colibri 22B
4) Villa Colibri 87
5) Colibri 23A

If someone also has a development map that shows where each villa is located within the development, that would also be awesome. I know I seen one somewhere here before, but can't remember where and can't find it using the search function. Thank you!!

I've stayed in Colibri 23A and I liked it a lot. It's furnished a bit nicer than some other villas I've rented. And it has a pretty decent view of the ocean and Puerto Plata from the backyard. And the landscaping has matured enough to where you have some backyard privacy in case you want to skinny dip with a chica (very important to me). In addition, I had no problems using the high speed internet connection with my laptop (i've had this problem in the past with other villas).

The villa itself is located a short distance into the development, and about 50 yds to the right.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the villa is up on a steep rise, and even walking up the front steps can be a chore (especially if you're drunk). And the remote control for the AC was broken, so I couldn't turn it off. But you can take problems like the remote to Joanna in the front office.

I have some pictures, but they don't show much more than the website. But I can testify that it's a very nice villa. Much better than any hotel room in the area. I always see if it's available when I'm looking to rent.

Here are the pictures I took of Villa Colibri 23A when I stayed there. They may give you a better idea of the interior and backyard view. I really like this little villa.

Thanks guys.

I found a map of the layout now and I am really interested in the villas in the 100's that have the views of the ocean. Can't find any pictures of those anywhere??

Those villas may not be available for rental, or even finished. A lot of the community is still under construction. In any case, they aren't listed in the rental section of the Hispaniola website.

I did stay in a villa there that had a pretty decent ocean view. It was villa #17. Here are some pictures that I took. I'm not the best photographer, so the pics don't do the view much justice. But it has a really good view of Puerto Plata lit up at night. These pics were taken from one of the huge balconies.

The only thing is that villa #17 is a 4bdrm and quite pricey unless you have someone to split the bill with. It's pretty nice though. Two stories, furnished very nicely, and an outside bar next to the pool. Great for hosting a pool party (or a VIP only swimsuit competition).

You can ask Joanna if any of the villas in the 100s are ready for rental now. She's pretty good about informing you about villas that may be for rental, but haven't been put on the website yet. Sometimes they have to wait for good sunny weather to take pics for the site.

And keep in mind that a lot of the villas have ocean views because the community itself is situated high on a hill. Just ask Joanna which villas have the best views.

Hope this helps.

Hemp PM Givengo or one of his crew, they just stayed there about a week ago, and I am sure they can give you the low down on security/price etc.

3, you should be sure to ask about their policy for returning deposits. :)

hahahaha...how did I know someone would go there?? :D

Honestly though, they are very good when if it comes to needing to cancel your reservation. They will either credit it towards your rescheduled date or they will reimburse you the full amount. I chose to send them my deposit via WU (since I was there anyways sending my very faithful Dominican Puta her monthly allowance  ), they sent it back to me the same way, minus the fee through WU of course.

The only issue (if you could call it that) that I have had is sometimes they take a few days to get back to you about rentals. Other than that, they have been GREAT!!

All I can say guys is that before I moved down to D.R., specifically the Sosua area, when I first arrived, and I used to go on monger trips either with a wingman, a crew, and got to the point of going solo because others didn't or couldn't go as often; I always did a villa. Hispaniola wasn't available at the time as they were in the dreaming stage at the time, so I always did Casa Linda, same company, just more out of the way, and I always felt it was a great deal for what I wanted. With Hispaniola being so close to the center of town, it is even better than Casa Linda, as I said before when the chicas hear where you are staying you can literally see them creaming in their panties.

Even when I went solo I stayed at Casa Linda in a two bedroom villa and paid for both, no wingman. It came down to I think at the end about $117 US. per night, which I normally spent any how per night on vacation. If you throw in a wingman the price was haved. If you had two wings and got a three bedroom villa, you were probably talking about $45 - $55 US a night. With all the ammenties, the private pool, the maid service included except for Sunday the garden, I could never think of a better way to go. No noise, and relaxing during the day, and very private and cozy at night.

One thing that I can say about the Hispaniola community is that they really appreciate repeat customers.

Since my boys and I have stayed there pretty consistently for the past year or two, they don't even charge us a deposit anymore. Joanna and "Bigi" are really great about that.

Anyone stayed in margarite 96? I want to know if the pool area is private (secluded).
