... dropped before a policy statement by the Federal Reserve. The Canadian currency, which is known as the loonie, strengthened 0.6 percent to C$1.2623 per US dollar at 9:03 am in Toronto, from C$1.2701 yesterday. One Canadian dollar buys 79.22 US cents.
