I think that for all that would like to own a business in DR, Jet
Blue is the way to go.

Its based in America and we can quickly start to get our feet in the
door. They have about 102,000,000 shares out there and they will
have 3 flights a day to our playground. I bet that will double in a
year, if not sooner.

With a 5% interest we can get our selves in the drivers seat. Feel
free to tell me all the negatives in my idea.

Its a a 4 year old airline that is now going to our playground. Only 102,000,000 shares outstanding.

Well, being that this is not mongering being discussed, I thought I'd put in my
2 cents worth:

1. even if there's enough interest among members to buy jetblue shares, trying
to acquire such a block would unreasonably inflate the share price
2. Trying to buy a 5-10% stake in Jetblue at today's price will cost between 450
and 900 million dollars
3. Being that this is business, IF this did work, people would suggest that
JetBlue is partly MongerAir, which would negatively reflect on the company in
general -- let's face it, a lot of righteous christians will see this as as act
of evil.
4. You won't be able to fly cheaper anyways.
5. Even if you did, let's consider the $40k investment in the stock - it just
won't be cheaper.
6. Judging from what I saw when I was down in DR -- with people not throwing
money around, to expect that 20,000 people will just spontaneously invest over
$40,000 each in a good company that is a part of a really troubled industry is
simply unrealistic.

Just some quick thoughts trying to point out weak spots in the idea..

JimmyDR et al,

Interesting idea, however more money would be needed to be classified
as a benefitiary owner (10% or more). Currently, Soros is the largest
individual owner. Institutional companies/funds also have a large
percentage. So, really something like 11 million shares would be needed.
