President Leonel Fernandez spoke with former baseball star Miguel Dilone on the phone yesterday. Fernandez expressed words of encouragement for Dilone who is now recovering after having his left eye removed. The operation to remove his eye was needed after he was struck in the face with a foul tip baseball during a training session with some prospects. Media reports indicate that Dilone is in a stable condition and in good spirits after the operation. Fernandez said that he hopes Dilone makes a quick recovery.
