[DR1] CB to sell land for tourism

Central Bank Governor Hector Valdez Albizu has announced that it will be selling land with tourism potential in the areas of Boca Nueva, Bergantin and Los Cocos, near Montellano in Puerto Plata, by public tender, according to a report in El Caribe. The income from these sales will be applied to the reduction of the CB's quasi-fiscal deficit. Valdez made this announcement during the inauguration of a housing project built for the relocation of 430 families who were evicted from the land that is to be sold. He stated that the housing project was a special moment for these families, as their lives would now acquire a new dimension, more human, more worthy, allowing them greater possibilities of progress.
