Howdy folks.....making my first trip to the Dominican April 23....8 days
Took a free all inclusive, not really free but Airmiles paid and it was a deal they had and I knew Blackbeards wasn't far and I read somewhere that staying there a week wasn't really a good idea, and since I am traveling alone and don't know the country this gave me a sense of security , like a home base I guess....
Been reading and asking to get the heads up on as much as possible, still finding new info, these sites can take me time to figure out:o
Been reading mixed reviews for BB, some say if you want to lay around, do nothing, just look at the same girls over and over.. fine...go
Some say there's lots to do, and I see tours etc, so thats cool with me..
One thing I do know...I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAID..

I'll be there too....Going to Sosua first and then I'll be at BB's for the weekend. It'll be my 3rd trip to BB's and 2nd time in Sosua. Not a pro by any means, but I'm having fun learning! The boards are great for info, but you're right you have to go and check it out for yourself...different guys have different tastes and different expectations.

Anyway, as discussed in another recent thread, your problem is finding somewhere to take the chicas to do the deed. Very close to Costambar along the main road are a number of cabañas (Sensations is one that has been recommended) but if you add in taxi both ways (and taxis in Costambar are expensive) and the cost of the cabaña it will work out fairly expensive. But if your trip was more or less free you can relax and enjoy it.

I second the comment to spend your vacation the way you want to. Although I am a Junior member here, I have been going to the DR for going on three years now. One lesson I learned is that this is your vacation and by all means do what you want to.

When I first got on the boards I got somewhat confused with everyone saying "this is the right way to do your trip", or "No, no, no, do it this way" or "that way". You know the way you like to relax and how circumstanses move your trip one way or another. Have your own kind of fun is my advice.

I tend to spend a few days at BBs and then a few days with the novia. That is what I like, although I am always re-evaluating things. The novia thing is great, but is a double edged sword.....

I agree..Its YOUR vacation and YOUR money, While I would NOT personally concider staying in a AIC place, mainly cause im a major WHOREDOG and need a room with a revolving door:)

I didn't take it that badly. I think it was meant in a joking way. None of us can take all the advice offered because it is always varied and conflicting. We all end up doing our own thing, one way or another. I agree it was not expressed in the most tactful way but the guy is on the verge of his first trip to the DR and (rightly) excited and I am sure he meant no offence.

Main thing is we encourage him to report back how it went (preferably with pictures). We don't get many reports from guys staying in AIs so it would be interesting to see if he can overcome the logistical problems and to learn whether it actually worked out cheaper than staying in a monger's hotel like the New Garden or Field of Dreams or wherever.

He might even come up with some advice that the next first-timer can ignore :rolleyes:

Staying a week at Blackbeards may not be a bad idea, but you're dick will spit at you for using it so much. I just went over for a couple days from the nuttiness of Sosua, and this is what happened. I have a girl there I see every time. I was there 1/2 day, 1 day, then another 1/2 and on to my flight. She just texted me, and I told her to say hello to 5 other girls there, which made me start thinking.

I was with her 4 times, another girl twice, and the 4 others once. That was 10 sessions in 48 hours, and I'm 46 years old. Had I stayed a week, I'm sure they would have taken me to the airport in a wheel chair druiling from cardiac failure.

Make sure to take advantage of a Jacuzzi Party - 500 pesos per girl, pick as many as you like, order up some tequila and grande Presidente and let them try and get your attention.
