The Ministry of Public Health is launching a new campaign, "Stop Tuberculosis," with the support of national and international organizations. Minister Bautista Rojas Gomez, quoted in Listin Diario, said that one of the most important aspects of stopping the spread of tuberculosis is working with governmental, non-governmental and international organizations. He added that while the disease is still a major problem in other countries, the DR is working hard to stop the spread of the disease. Rojas says that increased efforts are needed in order to fulfill the Millennium Development Goals, which call for a 50% reduction in tuberculosis rates by 2015.
