Claim Law 70-09 violates Constitution

Lawyers Ramon Negro Veras, Luis Gomez Perez and Luis Scheker Ortiz have presented a recourse to the Supreme Court of Justice against Law 70-09 that convenes the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies to meet to study a proposal for a new Constitution. The lawyers say that this law violates articles 4, 116 117 and 118 of the Constitution. They also request that legislators be declared incompetent, on the understanding that the intention is to create a new Constitution because all the proposed changes cannot be called an attempt to "modify" the Constitution, as reported in Listin Diario.
