Hi, I've stood in Puerto plata and sousoa and i know there are plenty of girls there, but this time I'm staying with a friend in cabarete and would rather not have to go all the way to sousoa for the chicas.. Where is the best place to find them in cabarete ? do they exist or is it difficult ? thanks

Go to the discos in the center of town at night. The female tourists will out number the locals in Cabarete greatly. Youre better off going to Sosua for the night imo. Sosua isn't that far.

There are whores working in Cabarete but they are less tolerated by the authorities and there is less clientele for them among the mainly younger gringo crowd so far less choice and higher prices than in Sosúa.

12/15 minutes and 40 pesos in a publico to get to Sosúa. If you bring back a chica late you might need to hire a private taxi, though, as few if any publicos will be running.

POOR YOU!! I can understand the beauty of the beach in Cabarete, and some of the nice restaurants. But to ignore Sosua at night? What r u smoking today??

They also have parties on the beach each night. You'll find them there. Like said above, it's a quick ride into Sosua and the pickings there are just too good.

After one night in Sosua, especially a Thurs to Sun night, you will understand!!

I was there in February and stayed in a hotel in Cabarete. We went to Sosua each night. The last night we stayed in Cabarete and went to a party on the beach. If you'd like some info read my report (I think I speak about it in my last post). The thread can be found here (http://news.insearchofchicas.org/forum/showthread.php?t=163752).

Check out trEPP33's last report on Cabarete it gives a lot of answers to your basic question.

I'm 90% sure I'm leaning that way to - stay in Cabarete - hang on the Cab beaches by day - hit the infamous Sosua strip and surrounding bars by night.

Biggest down side I can see in terms of the chicas - if you find one in Sosua that promises you the world in bed, and get her back to your room in Cab - it's a pain kicking her out...definitely could be more drama filled simply cause she's not gonna like the prospect of making back to Sosua alone...and you don't have the easy convience of walking back in a couple of minutes to find a more willing and thrilling replacement.

If you're with a buddy I'm guessing car rental is best option - it should pay for itself within a couple of days.

I agree that renting a car is a great idea. I plan on doing so during my next trip in June. Not really necessary though as you could always take taxi's. The only reason we are renting a car on the next trip is to see more of the country during the deay.

I didn't think of the potential issue CarolinaJack raised regarding a chica who's not up to your standards. I don't think the girls would have a problem making it back to Sosua alone since it is so close to Cabarete and the guys on the moto's are available all hours of the night. Should be no different then kicking them out if you were in Sosua.

Should a problem occur getting a new chica shouldn't be a problem because you could still go down to a club/bar in Cabarete or hit one of the spots on the beach to find another if you didn't want to go all the way back Sosua.

Still, CarolinaJack presented some good points/ideas.

Only time I ever was in Cabarete at night was Dec of 07 at a Zacarais Ferrera concert at the car wash. We also had dinner earlier there but it was pretty dead as far as Chica putas were concerned.

On any decent night (Thurs-Sun)in Cabarete there will be about 25-30 regular chicas on the beach in the main bars, Onnos and Bambu but not until after midnight (ish). Other nights are quieter.

There will also be a few scattered around walking the street near Hotel Koaba, or in Hexenkessel or in the only upstairs bar in town whose name escapes me.

Daytime action can be found on the beach, or again at Hexenkessel, near Koaba and the upstairs bar.

Same punani week in week out. Rarely get new faces but I was very surprised a couple of weeks ago by a Haitiana that was working for the 1st time ever. She used to do the bible readings at a local church.

There is more action in 50 yards in Sosua than the whole of Cabarete so Sosua it ain't thats for sure but the chicas are not as hardcore as some Sosua chicas and the prices are actually the same or less.

Okay, I will be coming to Cabarete soon, maybe by the end of July or early August. Please tell me if there is something happening there were I do not have to go to Sousa every night. I know the ride is a short one. But it would also be tiresome after a while. I will be in the DR for quite a while. Where is the place to go if you just want to chill out and see the sites. The ladies there can not be all that bad. Someone please help me. I have been to the DR before, and feel quite at home there. So I do know something about the women. Just give me the low down. Thanks:(

Just go to the Bambu bar in cabarete which is an indoor and outdoor bar. It is usually very busy during the weekends. Cabarete usually attracts a younger crowd than Sosua due to all the windsurfing.... but nevertheless Cabarete has working girls aswell.
Above the Ocean Blue Casino in Cabarete there is also a nightclub which stays open till 5 am in the morning, and usually alot of people from the Bambu bar head to the nightclub above the Casino when the Bambu Bar is closing down.
Have a great trip
ps Sosua is only a 15 minute drive away

All good info however, the nightclub at the casino has been closed for well over a year now, ever since they changed the beach bar closing times to 3am.

Eat at HexenKestle on the street across from Ono and Bambu, then go to Aribba Bar, which is upstairs and nearby, around 10p until 11:30p or midnight, then go to Ono and Bambu. You will do fine.

Are there any short time hotels in cabarete? I want to hit something on the side without compromising a family trip too much. Any info on that would be great.

You might find something headed toward Sosua from Cabarete. I have no idea what's open now. Those places come and go. There used to be a couple of cabana like joints.

There are many such places in Cabarete, the girls will know where to take you.

For example the whole campo area behind Hexenkessel adjacent to the street is full of little 1 room shacks that the girls use or the hotel Casa Laguna has short term rental rooms. Or a short taxi ride to the Cabana in Islabon may be better.

Not compromising a family trip may be a different ball game as I would imagine discretion on Cabarete's one street is somewhat difficult.

if you are able to get away for a few hours at a time,I would recommend the Field Of Dreams, nice hotel and right in the middle of Puerto Plata and Sosua across from Playa Dorado and small chance of accidently running into anyone. You could also grab a hotel in Sosua which is close to Cabrete Don Antonio is great and cheap

Thanks for all the info. I will be coming to town in about a week. Oh! One more thing. how reliable and frequent is the public transportation from cabarete to sosua? I might as well save a buck or two if I can. How much is it?

I was in Cabarete in May 09 and again for the jazz festival ealier this month, but stayed at Casa Linda (closer to Sosua). In both cases, the real action was in Sosua at night. There were some 7, 8 and dimes in Cabarete, but price was prohibitive. Especially, this month. Friend of mine was talking to some Cabarete chicas and they quoted prices of $140.00 US. We all  and took our happy asses to Sosua. Cabarete is a good place to eat and watch sports (Jose O' Shays), but the mongering action is in Sosua.

I also noticed that there are way too Europeans and couples in Cabarete to be a real mongers haven. Your best bet is hop in a taxi and hit Sosua Road.
