The company 'Ola Te Guía' has also launched a GPS navigation system for the Dominican Republic, so that you need never get lost again. We haven't had the chance to try out the system yet in practice, so we'll have to wait and see how users describe their experience with this system. You can type in your destination into your Navicon-Nuvi 200, BlackBerry, Nokia or HTC phone and (according to the manufacturers) you'll be directed straight to your destination.

It looks like from their website these guys are using Garmin based GPSs and software available on some cellphones to load their own maps you buy from them onto your device. You can also buy a Garmin GPS preloaded with their maps on it.

Nice idea if they have done their homework well creating all the maps.

If these guys have properly added every restaurant and chicken stand on the island properly SJG might be able to be more mobile now since he can keep up with his normal eating habits of eating every 5 minutes or 5 miles whichever comes sooner.
