According to the general manager of the Gregorio Luperón (Puerto Plata) airport, Mr Máximo Iglesias, from May onwards passengers will be able to use the completely renovated airport, which is now one of the most modern airports in the Caribbean. The arrivals terminal has been expanded, and the customs department can now process passengers from up to 10 airliners without delay. The departure hall and the check-in desks now have modern equipment showing up-to-date information on departures and arrivals. Delays are reported quickly.
The renovation work has cost the government around 300 million pesos.

It did not cost the government a fucking penny. We paid for the renovations with the airline taxes. Look at the breakdown next time you buy a plane ticket. It shows you exactly how much you pay for what. If your airline does not show it ask them to email you with it. You will see that each way there is a good amount of money which the DR charges the airline and they in turn charge you to build the airports.

So they can say it cost the government whatever they want, That means the money they charged the airlines who charged us, paid for it. The government simply charged us to build it. Technically it was their money.
