DR is a land where a man can cheat on his wife with anyone, usually his secretary. Cabanas are where they go. You bring you own and rent in blocks of 3-4 hours.

most important for us expats is: you drive straight into the garage, shut the rolldoor, nobody sees who you are, you may even bring a truckload of chicas or whatever. the bill - and drinks - ar passed through a revolving pass, no need to show your face. usually decen - dominican - food and drinks available. rates areounf 400 pesoss 4 hours, if you arrive after 10:00 pma its about 450 all night.

You pull in, close the door and enter the cabana. Then they come knocking and you pay-up and order food drinks whatever right from the room?

Correct, you use the phone in the room to tell them how long you want the room and to order any food/drinks.

Then 5-15 minutes later the bell rings and the revolving small door opens, some are like roll top desks and others are round canisters with openings. Either way you are hidden from view.

Note unless you know Spanish very well and have an accent then have the girl call, I know at least one person stuck with a gringo rate in a cabana.

There are no girls to pick there. You have to bring one (or 2) with you.

I would have said if it was me. But I wasn't going to identify Mike either.

Well, what happened happened.. we were foolish enough to pay the guy upfront for the cabana and never saw a bill.. the little fuck overcharged us by a margin of 2  .. this was at Imperial in Santiago..

Next day we hassled with the owner and got a few pesos back (the difference on the rooms) a few days later..
